About Us Michael and Marna Powell purchased Gahn Welding from John Gahn and renamed it "Gone Welding." In other words, Gahn is Gone. John started his business in the late 1970's and moved to the current location 21 years ago. John Gahn worked exclusively on fishing boats his entire career. In 2008 John married his sweetheart, Sandra and moved to British Columbia to pursue kayaking. He and Sandra are wonderful people so we are happy they moved someplace we will enjoy visiting!

Michael Powell's resume is too extensive to include here. He worked for sixteen years as a welder/fabricator specializing in industrial pipe at all kinds of job sites. His experience includes structural steel and other ironwork. Prior to purchasing Gone Welding, Powell was a lead millwright for four years at a local sawmill. Contact us for a list of certifications or a complete resume if you would like to know more. Marna Powell calls herself "Office Queen to the Man of Steel." Besides being owner/operator of Kayak Zak's she uses her business degree and bookeeping experience to keep Michael lined up. "Hey, at least I can run a bead." Along with numerous pets, our family includes our House Princess, Jessica. "Hey, at least I can string beads!"
